Abstract

In birational geometry, the key problem after minimal model program might be to give canonical classification to higher dimensional projective varieties. For this purpose, one needs to solve the fundamental question: for n>2, calculate the volume function v_n and the canonical stability function r_n for projective n-folds of general type. In this lecture, we explain the recent advance and status on the study of this aspect.
