Abstract

I'll talk about some optimization problems in Computer Science related to automated reasoning in information theory and also web intelligence leveraging big data analytics and intelligence in the cloud.


Bio

Dr. Tan is an Associate Professor of Computer Science. He received his degrees from Princeton University and was a Senior Fellow of the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) for the program on Science at Extreme Scales. He is currently serving as an Editor for the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking. His research interests include artificial intelligence, networks and graph analytics, convex optimization theory and algorithms at the interface of statistics and computer science.
